The Philadelphia Eagles have been involved in trade rumors along the defensive line this offseason, but some of the buzz can be put to rest - for now.

Per reports from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Eagles defensive end Josh Sweat has agreed to restructure his current deal in order to stay with Philadelphia. He’ll now earn $10 million guaranteed plus incentives for a max value of $13 million.

“Source: Josh Sweat staying with the #Eagles on a restructured deal with $10M guaranteed plus incentives (max of $13M). Had no guarantees prior, so this gives Sweat security entering contract year,” Fowler tweeted.

Sweat and fellow pass rusher Haason Reddick have both reportedly popped up in trade talks this offseason. Reddick was grant permission to see a trade. Meanwhile, Sweat’s name entered the fold around the time that New York Jets defensive end Bryce Huff became connected to the Eagles. Philly ended up signing Huff this week, which added some uncertainty to Sweat’s future.

If the Eagles can work things out with Reddick after holding down Sweat, they could possess an elite front seven that resembles the unit that helped Philadelphia earn a Super Bowl berth in the 2022 season.
