Eagles QB receives Master's Degree from the University of Oklahoma

A jack of all trades on the football field, Jalen Hurts is officially a master of one off of it.

Dr. David Surratt, the Dean at the University of Oklahoma, posted a video on Friday night of Hurts receiving a Master's Degree in Human Relations.

One could argue it's the second master's degree he got this year after he led the Eagles to Super Bowl LVII in February.

Hurts was outstanding last season, finishing second in the league in MVP voting behind Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes. In his 15 starts, the Eagles were 14-1 and Hurts was 306-of-460 (66.5 percent) for 3,701 yards, 22 touchdowns and six interceptions with 165 carries for 760 yards and 13 touchdowns.

He went toe-to-toe with Mahomes in the Super Bowl, going 27-of-38 for 304 yards and a touchdown while adding 70 yards and three touchdowns on 15 rush attempts. Mahomes—the Super Bowl MVP—was 21-of-27 for 182 yards and three touchdowns. He also had six rush attempts for 44 yards in the Chiefs' 38-35 win.

Hurts' season looks even more impressive considering he was in a university-approved Master's program at the same time. Per Pro Football Talk, "Hurts has said in interviews that he was inspired by his mother, who both worked and studied for her master's degree while raising him."

He initially received a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations with a Minor in Communications Studies in Dec. 2018 after only three years at the University of Alabama. He transferred to Oklahoma ahead of the 2019 college football season and led the Sooners to a 12-2 record and a spot in the College Football Playoff.
