Eagles sign LB T.J. Edwards to one-year extension worth up to $3.2 million

The Philadelphia Eagles made a move Monday morning to shore up a piece of their linebackers crew for the near-future.

After playing at the University of Wisconsin, Edwards wasn't selected during the 2019 NFL draft. The 25-year-old signed with the Eagles in May of that year and played in all 16 games as a rookie, recording 30 tackles.

Edwards missed four games during the 2020 season due to a hamstring injury, but still posted 70 tackles, two quarterback hits, one interception and career-highs in forced fumbles and sacks with two apiece. In 11 games this season, the former Badgers linebacker has already registered a career-high 76 tackles, along with two quarterback hits, one interception and one sack.

Edwards and the rest of the Eagles will take on the New York Giants in Week 12 at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
