Eagles, TE Dallas Goedert agree to four-year, $59 million extension

One month after trading longtime tight end Zach Ertz to the Arizona Cardinals, the Philadelphia Eagles officially locked up the three-time Pro Bowler's heir apparent in Dallas Goedert for years to come.

According to multiple reports, Goedert agreed to a four-year, $59 million contract extension with the Eagles, a deal that will keep the fourth-year pro in Philadelphia through 2025. ESPN's Adam Schefter had further details on the extension.

Goedert was selected by the Eagles in the second round of the 2018 NFL draft and ranks second on the squad this season in targets (39), receptions (29) and receiving yards (429), while hauling in a pair of touchdowns as well. In 51 career games, the 26-year-old has posted 166 receptions for 1,894 yards and 14 touchdowns. This deal now makes him the third highest-paid TE in football behind only the Chiefs' Travis Kelce and 49ers' George Kittle.

The Eagles host the New Orleans Saints at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
