Eagles TE Dallas Goedert reveals team's name for 'Tush Push'

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert recently revealed the team's play call name for their quarterback sneak specialty, and it's neither "Tush Push" nor "Brotherly Shove."

The Eagles' near-automatic sneak with signal-caller Jalen Hurts has been one of the biggest stories in the NFL this season, as other teams have started attempting the move. While some groups have been successful with their tries, nobody's perfected it like Philadelphia and there have been some notable failures.

On the heels of a pair of New York Giants players recently suffering injuries during an ill-advised "Tush Push/Brotherly Shove" attempt against the Seattle Seahawks, Eagles All-Pro center Jason Kelce said this week that he thinks teams will start faking injuries to get the play banned.

The NFL competition committee considered banning the play call over the offseason but ultimately decided to keep it as an option.

Kelce's club has been using the seemingly unstoppable play on short yardage situations since last season. When done correctly, it results in the man under center gettingĀ an extra push or pull from teammates to get him either past the first down marker or into the end zone.

Despite missing two games during the 2022 campaign, Hurts finished second in the NFL with 13 rushing touchdowns, and he's already posted four scores on the ground in 2023 (all of which have been one-yard plunges). Last season's MVP runner upĀ had three rushing touchdowns during his team's 38-35 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII, which tied a record for the big game. Two of the scores came via the "SNOOPY" call.
