No, just kidding.. that's Nick Saban's infamous line.
But really, fans can stop getting their hopes up because the NFL's tallest wide receiver, at 6-foot-6 and 231 pounds, is actually going to stick to playing wide receiver.
Sirianni and general manager Howie Roseman made that clear following the 2024 NFL Draft.
"I think he can run the full route tree," Roseman said when asked if they plan on moving him to tight end. "I think a lot of times you do that when guys don’t have the lower body flexibility to get in and out of their breaks. We don’t see that with Johnny."
Sure, Wilson is big like a tight end, and would make a great blocker. But what makes him stand out from tight ends at this league is his elite speed and flexibility, which the Eagles would rather not waste by having him switch positions.
"All his production is coming on the outside, running outside routes," Sirianni chimed in. "Really looking forward to working with him there at the wide receiver position."
The Florida State product made his role with the Eagles even clearer during rookie minicamp.
"I play receiver," Wilson said. "A lot of people have opinions on what I should be. I'm on this team. I play for the Eagles. There's been no talk for me being a tight end."
