Eagles' WR A.J. Brown relishes the Philly cold after experiencing frigid temperatures Sunday in Chicago
After experiencing temperatures under 20 degrees with a windchill that made it feel even colder, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown was glad to be home after his team pulled out a 25-20 victory over the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field.
If Brown was genuinely bothered by the cold, he didn't show it Sunday afternoon. Brown snatched nine catches for a single-game career-high 181 yards, including a 68-yard reception in the fourth quarter that helped the Eagles seal the victory.
Brown also set a career-high in receiving yards for a season, recording 1,201 after Sunday's win, topping his previous high of 1,075 yards reached in 2020 with three regular-season games still to play.
On top of posting a career-best in yards, Brown has caught 74 of 118 targets, averaging 16.2 yards per catch with ten touchdowns.
Brown wasn't the only Eagles player to comment on Sunday's downright unbearable temperatures in Chicago.
Linebacker Shaun Bradley had a colorful response to the cold, and
quarterback Jalen Hurts, who uncharacteristically threw two picks in the game, told reporters he'd "never played in anything that cold."
When asked about possibly playing home playoff games in Philadelphia, where it's likely temps will be low, Hurts responded, "It ain't Chicago."
Despite the cold, the Eagles snuck away with a win, improving to 13-1. Having already clinched a playoff spot last week, the Eagles can solidify the number one seed in the NFC with a win on Christmas Eve against the rival Dallas Cowboys.
