Former Baltimore Ravens running back Mike Davis has announced his retirement from the NFL after eight seasons in the league.

“As I turn 31 today, I sit back and look on my NFL career and how thankful I am to be a part of a brotherhood,” Davis said on social media. “This game has allowed me to make a lot of friends and memories. I’m grateful for every organization in (the) NFL.”

Davis made the announcement on his 31st birthday on Tuesday.

Davis most recently played for the Ravens, where he signed back in May of 2022 but was cut in December of that same year. He did not appear on an NFL roster during the 2023 season.

The former South Carolina Gamecock played eight games for the Ravens and registered eight carries for 18 yards and no touchdowns while playing in a backup role.

His eight-year career included time with the San Francisco 49ers, who drafted Davis in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks, the Carolina Panthers, where he served two stints, the Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons and the Ravens

Davis tallied 588 carries for 2,052 yards and 14 touchdowns over 87 NFL games.
