As the Dallas Cowboys star quarterback continues to slam records, the most fan-following he has been getting. This season, Dak Prescott has emerged as a co-favorite in the MVP race, alongside the San Francisco 49ers’ QB Brock Purdy with +300 odds. And former Super Bowl MVP Phil Simms acknowledges that very well.

In a recent appearance on the CBS Sports Network, Adam Schein brought up the subject of whether or not Prescott has silenced his haters and critics after being MVP favorite. To which, Simms highlighted how the star QB has been all over the news, and has given his career-best performances this season.

The sportscaster said, laughing:

You know, I watched a lot of TV during this week, and yes… 'Dak Dak Dak' they are all cheerleaders now. But you know, he had to eat it the whole season. I got so sick of seeing it, hearing it…on all these shows first thing out. Dak Prescott, as it is for him, all these things..but I'll say this is a quarterback. When you get beaten up like that in the offseason, it truly is motivating. And if you are determined to prove a few people wrong..I think that's healthy, to be honest. It puts a different edge on him. Phil Simms on NFL on CBS

Simms believes quarterback Prescott is known as “Mister Positive,” having a clean and soft reputation. That’s why, if this time he is motivated by the critics and doing just to prove them wrong, then there’s nothing wrong with that. As he said:

He's always mister positive, it's okay to drop down sometimes and get dirt in sometimes and be the guy, that's all..just do it for meanness.

He concluded his point by adding:

To show you guys, and I'll say this to the last, Dak is throwing the football, physically, better than he has in his whole career.

What are Dak Prescott’s stats that put him atop the MVP race?

Ex-SB MVP Simms isn’t wrong though, as in the last six games, Prescott has thrown a total of 20 touchdowns, which isn’t just the highest in his career but tied up with Don Meredith ‘s highest for the history of the Cowboys in six games. He is ranked second in producing the highest first downs on his passes (43.0%), behind Purdy on top.

According to BetMGM, 49ers’ Purdy and Cowboys’ Prescott are the co-favorites in the NFL MVP race at +300 odds. Prescott is leading the league in completion percentage, which is beyond expectations and 5.2% more than the nominal he should.

Moreover, Prescott’s pickable pass percentage of 1.37% has been ranked as the fourth-best in the league, along with the lowest interceptions of only two. The QB’s catchable ball percentage of 79% is better than the NFL average by four points.
