Fans roasted an NFL player on social media Friday after they announced they were changing their name. Detroit Lions defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson has plenty of time on his hands to make a name change. The veteran safety was placed on injured reserve in September after sustaining a torn pectoral.

Gardner-Johnson is an eccentric player for the Lions. He asked Lions fans to mask up during Lions home games earlier this season in just his first year in Detroit.

Now he’s supposedly in the process of changing his name, according to a post on X by Gardner-Johnson. He wants to go by the name of “Ceedy Duce.”
