The Auburn Tigers will continue to have representation on the Jacksonville Jaguars.

According to multiple reports, the Jacksonville Jaguars have signed former Auburn defensive back Daniel Thomas to a new deal.

According to Pro Football Rumors, the deal is for two years and has a base value of $4 million. There is room for him to make more.

"Thomas could earn up to $6MM, though, making this agreement a much more lucrative one than his rookie contract," Adam La Rose wrote via Pro Football Rumors. "The former fifth-rounder has spent the past four seasons in Jacksonville, primarily serving on special teams."

The former Auburn safety played 56 games during his NFL career with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He started twice during his rookie season and has played 903 special teams snaps during his time in the league. It's assumed that will continue to be his role moving forward.

"God is good," Thomas said via a post on X. "Let's run it back Duval."

Earlier in the week, the Jaguars released veteran defensive back Rayshawn Jenkins. Perhaps Thomas could find a larger role in the defensive backfield in 2024.

Thomas was drafted with the 157th overall pick in the 202 NFL Draft after starting at Auburn. During his time on The Plains, Thomas recorded 124 solo tackles, five interceptions, eight pass breakups, and three forced fumbles. He appeared in 43 games during his four seasons as an Auburn Tiger. Thomas had a pick-six in 2018.

The Jaguars also signed offensive lineman Ezra Cleveland and defensive lineman Jeremiah Ledbetter to contract extensions Friday.
