Former Cincinnati Bengals tight end Thaddeus Moss is retiring from football.

Moss, the 25-year old son of NFL Hall of Fame receiver Randy Moss, announced his retirement Monday afternoon via X/Twitter.

Despite never playing a snap outside of the preseason in Cincinnati, Moss will forever be synonymous with Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase. He was LSU's starting tight end during the 2019 season in which the Tigers went 15-0 and won the National Championship. He actually caught two touchdowns from Burrow in that game.

Moss' collegiate history with Burrow made him an ideal UDFA signing following the 2020 NFL Draft, but the Washington Football Team ended up signing him. Washington waived Moss after the season and he joined the Bengals soon afterwards.

Moss would go on to make the Bengals' practice squad in 2021 after catching eight passes for 64 yards and a touchdown in the preseason. He didn't take a snap during Cincinnati's run to Super Bowl LVI.

The Bengals kept Moss around during the 2022 offseason, but did not add him to the practice squad following final cuts that year. He did not get signed by any team that year, or in 2023.

Moss' last action in the NFL was in a Bengals uniform, and his football peak was being a critical teammate of both Burrow and Chase.
