Former Buffalo Bills WR gets cut on Tuesday
Zay Jones is headed to free agency
The Bills selected Jones in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He stayed with the Bills until he was traded to the Oakland Raiders in October 2019. In March 2022, he signed a three-year deal with the Jaguars.
Jones has recorded 281 receptions for 2,981 yards and 18 touchdowns in his seven-year NFL career.
The Jaguars didn’t have as much use for Jones in the upcoming season after they added two key wide receivers this offseason. In addition to Thomas, the Jaguars signed former Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis in free agency.
The Bills could try to sign Jones in free agency to provide depth to their receiver corps. The Bills drafted Keon Coleman with their first pick in the draft this year, but the team still has much work to do to improve the unit.
