After recent rumors suggested that the Arizona Cardinals were interested in bringing back former linebacker Haason Reddick, they lost out on the opportunity to acquire him as he is heading elsewhere.
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Philadelphia Eagles traded Reddick to the New York Jets for a draft pick.
“Eagles are sending edge-rusher Haason Reddick to the New York Jets for a conditional 2026 third-round pick that could be a second,” Schefter said. “The 2026 pick becomes a second if Reddick has 67.5% playtime this season and has 10 or more sacks. If not, it’s a 2023 third.”

Last Saturday, ESPN senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler thought it was not a matter of if but when Reddick was going to be traded.
“The expectation league-wide is that Haason Reddick is moved at some point,” Fowler said on Sportscenter. “Arizona could be a team to watch because [Cardinals head coach] Jonathan Gannon was with him two years ago in Philly. They had good production together. Arizona needs pass rushers.”
The Cards signed Reddick to a four-year deal worth $13.4 million in 2018. Arizona did not pick up his option for an additional year in 2021.
As a Cardinal, Reddick played 64 games (31 starts). The 29-year-old had 255 tackles, 20.0 sacks, 9.0 forced fumbles and defended 15 passes.
Reddick would then spend a season with the Carolina Panthers before heading to the Eagles.
In two seasons with the Eagles, Reddick started all 34 regular season games. He collected 87 tackles, 27.0 sacks and 5.0 forced fumbles.
He was a second-team All-Pro in 2022, a two-time Pro Bowler in last two seasons and in the race for the 2022 Defensive Player of the Year.
Reddick will now join former Cardinals defensive tackle Leki Fotu as two new Jets players. Fotu signed a one-year contract with New York.
