Former Eagles great trolls 'cursed' Cowboys

Roughly a week after the Dallas Cowboys season ended abruptly, "America's Team" is still taking hits, this time from a three-time Pro Bowler who tormented them for over a decade.

While the divisional round of the playoffs kicked off on Saturday, former Philadelphia Eagles wideout DeSean Jackson took to social media, rejoicing that the Cowboys weren't playing.

While helping soothe the disappointment over his beloved Eagles' similar late-season collapse, Jackson's take is extra salt in a fresh wound. Unlike the Eagles, the Cowboys entered the postseason with the gusto of a team pegged for a long run, only for it to end with a thud in an upset loss to the upstart Green Bay Packers.

Before his snarky post on Saturday, Jackson already had much to say about the Eagles' longtime rival. Earlier in the week, he appeared on "Up & Adams," declaring that there was a hex on the Cowboys going back to the Tony Romo era.

"They're not the 90s Cowboys anymore," Jackson said. "They have a curse, and something needs a dramatic change. I don't even think it's just Dak [Prescott]."

If Jackson is correct and change is necessary in Arlington, it won't occur on the sidelines, at least not yet. The Cowboys have already confirmed that head coach Mike McCarthy will return for 2024, but it will be without a contract extension, meaning he'll be working on essentially a one-year deal.

If anyone has earned the right to talk smack on the Cowboys, it's Jackson. Over his 15 seasons in the NFL, the only team he had more catches (61) and touchdowns (6) against was the New York Giants. His 1,330 yards in 18 games versus Dallas are the third-most given up by the franchise in its history, behind only Art Monk (1,357) and Charley Taylor (1,463).
