The Tennessee Titans have hired former Philadelphia Eagles safety Colt Anderson as their special teams coordinator.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero was the first to report the news on Friday.
Anderson, 38, joins new Titans head coach Brian Callahan after having previously worked together at the Cincinnati Bengals four for seasons.
Next season will mark the first year of his coaching career that Anderson gets a chance to coach his own unit as he spent his entire time in Cincy as a special teams assistant.
Before entering the coaching realm, Anderson played nine seasons in the NFL after being signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2009. He spent his rookie year on the practice squad and joined the Eagles in 2010.
In his four seasons in Philly, Anderson played in 48 games with 6 starts where he logged 71 tackles, three forced fumbles and an interception.
Anderson also had a short stint with the Indianapolis Colts before finishing his career in 2017 with the Buffalo Bills.
Throughout his entire NFL tenure, Anderson saw action in 84 games and started seven of them. He logged 109 combined tackles, one interception, and two forced fumbles. He registered an additional 58 tackles on special teams.
Anderson was born and raised in Butte, Montana, and went on to play football at Montana University as a walk-on where he eventually earned himself a scholarship.
