Former Raiders coach Jon Gruden: 'The truth will come out'

Now-former Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden resigned from that post last week after the NFL's investigation of the Washington Football Team uncovered emails Gruden sent from 2010 through 2018 that reportedly contained racist, homophobic and misogynistic language.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, league insider Andrea Kremer said on the "Real Sports Podcast" that a producer recently discussed the controversy with Gruden.

"Maggie Burbank, who produced the story that we just did on (Raiders owner) Mark Davis, she actually called Gruden and he picked up the phone, much to I think her surprise," Kremer explained. "And he’s still in Las Vegas. . . . He says he’s letting the dust settle. He said, 'People who know me know what I stand for for 58 years. I have a resume of 58 years.' He said, 'The truth will come out.' It’s certainly cryptic."

Shortly after Gruden and the Raiders parted ways, Davis delivered an obscure message of his own to ESPN.

"I have no comment," Davis said at that time. "Ask the NFL. They have all the answers."

Multiple individuals responded that Davis may have been implying he believes Gruden was singled out via the stories that led to his departure from the Raiders, as the roughly 650,000 emails reportedly recovered haven't yet cost any other coaches or executives their jobs.

"Mark Davis has been severely impacted," Kremer added about the owner. "And I’m not defending Mark Davis. I’m just pointing out a fact here. Dan Snyder continues on. The Washington Football Team continues on."

Kremer's update indicates this story is far from over even though Gruden is out of sight at the moment.
