Before Josh Wells was a swing tackle for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers he was an undrafted free agent who got his start in the league with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

After four years with the Bucs, one of which ended with a Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs, he's headed back to where it all started.

The signing was announced via Twitter by the Jaguars on Tuesday.

Undrafted in 2014 out of James Madison, Wells was picked up by Jacksonville and started nine games in five years with the team, all of them coming in the 2017 and 2018 NFL seasons.

After being released, Wells signed on with the Buccaneers for the 2019 season and started two games that year while appearing in 13.

With quarterback Tom Brady's arrival in 2020, Wells was one of the benefactors who contributed to the team's championship run by playing in 15 regular season contests and appearing in each postseason win that year.

Since that Super Bowl season, Wells has started 12 games for Tampa Bay while appearing in 28.

In an offseason loaded with a large number of expected departures, Wells becomes the sixth Bucs player to sign with a different team so far.

He now joins cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting (Tennesee Titans) and receiver Scotty Miller (Atlanta Falcons) as now ex-Buccaneers who will face the team this coming regular season.

Both Murphy-Bunting and Wells will visit Raymond James Stadium with their new teams while Miller will play a home and away game against Tampa Bay after joining an NFC South Division rival.
