Former Tennessee Vols edge rusher Byron Young proved this season to be one of the biggest steals in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Young was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the third round (No. 77 overall) of the draft this past spring, but he performed like a first round selection as a rookie in 2023.

The former Vols standout played in all 17 games for the Rams as a rookie, totaling 61 tackles, eight sacks, and two forced fumbles.

That would be tremendous production for a first round pick, let alone a third round pick.

For comparison's sake, Houston Texans edge rusher Will Anderson, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, totaled 45 tackles and seven sacks as a rookie this past season.

As a result of Young's stellar rookie season, he was named to PFWA's All-Rookie team this week.

Former Vols offensive lineman Darnell Wright, the No. 10 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears, also made the PFWA All-Rookie team.
