Free agent WR Kenny Golladay has offer from Bengals but will visit Giants
Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Kenny Golladay was limited to five games last season because of hamstring and hip injuries, but that isn't preventing the 27-year-old from attracting interest at the start of the new NFL year.
ESPN's Dianna Russini and Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated's MMQB report the Cincinnati Bengals have offered Golladay a one-year "prove it" contract:
Meanwhile, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network added that Golladay will visit the New York Giants, a team in need of a top-tier receiver:
Golladay earned his first and, to date, only Pro Bowl appearance in 2019 when he led the NFL with 11 touchdown receptions. The salary cap is dropping by nearly $16 million due to revenue that was lost amid the COVID-19 pandemic, however, and it's assumed that is impacting how much even proven receivers will earn from new contracts this offseason.
While the Giants may outbid the Bengals for Golladay's services, he could sign a short-term agreement elsewhere to bet on himself ahead of the cap likely increasing 12 months from now.
