Giants expected to hire Chiefs quarterbacks coach Mike Kafka for OC job

It didn't take long for the New York Giants to make their next hire for their revamped coaching staff.

It was reported Wednesday that New York was set to interview the 34-year-old Kafka. The Giants have brought in a new general manager (Joe Schoen), head coach (Brian Daboll) and now offensive coordinator in the last two weeks alone.

Daboll said during his introductory press conference on Monday that he would like to he wants keep Patrick Graham as his defensive coordinator if Graham doesn't receive an opportunity to serve as a head coach elsewhere.

Kafka was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft and played in four career games, all coming during the 2011 season. He bounced between teams through the 2015 campaign, spending time on both the active roster and practice squad.

Kafka began his coaching career as an offensive graduate assistant with Northwestern in 2016, before being hired as the Kansas City Chiefs' offensive quality control coach in February 2017. He was promoted to quarterbacks coach in 2018.
