Giants HC Joe Judge: Report QB Daniel Jones first hurt neck vs. Buccaneers 'completely inaccurate'

New York Giants fans were surprised by a report produced by Paul Schwartz of the New York Post that said starting quarterback Daniel Jones first suffered "some structural damage" that's been called a "strained neck" all the way back on Nov. 22 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rather than against the Philadelphia Eagles the subsequent Sunday as relayed by the organization.

Jones is essentially out indefinitely because he hasn't been cleared for contact since before last Sunday's loss at the Miami Dolphins, and that understandably had many wondering how team doctors allowed him to face the Eagles on Nov. 28 considering Schwartz's update that added the signal-caller "could do further damage to the neck" if he played. According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, head coach Joe Judge hit out at that story on Thursday:

It's been rumored since last Friday Jones is unofficially done for the remainder of the season. As has been the case, Judge denied that on Thursday, according to Newsday's Tom Rock:

Judge also reiterated previous comments and said he believes backup Mike Glennon will clear the NFL's concussion protocol for this Sunday's game at the Los Angeles Chargers:

2020 fifth-round draft pick Jake Fromm is taking first-team practice reps with both Jones and Glennon sidelined.

Assuming Judge is telling the truth, Jones will try to get right for the home game against the rival Dallas Cowboys on Dec. 19.
