The New York Giants Offensive Linemen have been dropping like flies, with one player getting injured every game. The Giants play a tenacious defensive line in the Washington Commanders' front four this week. Hopefully, the Giants find some guys who fill in by then, for their sake.

Andrew Thomas, Evan Neal, John Michael Schmitz, Mark Glowinski, Shane Lemieux, are all hurt and that's just the starting lineman. There are more second-stringers that are injured, as well.

Is this the reason for the Giant's horrendous season, or are they just bad, in totality?

The past decade hasn't been kind to Giants offensive linemen. Just look at Eli Manning, who was sacked 411 times in his career. Daniel Jones has been playing since 2019 and has already been sacked 177 times.

Maybe the Giants are just unlucky.

The Giants have spent the last couple of drafts attempting to beef up the O-line, using the fourth overall pick in 2020 on Andrew Thomas and their fifth overall pick in 2022 on Evan Neal. Furthermore, they used a second-rounder on John Michael Schmitz; so what is the problem?

Poor coaching and bad offensive schemes are a great start. And, of course, there's always the idea of failed talent evaluations. The Giants have spent either first or second round picks on names like Ereck Flowers, Will Hernandez, and Weston Richburg just to see them fail at earning a second contract with the team.

The Giants have signed Justin Pugh from free agency, and Sean Harlow from the Cowboys practice squad in hopes of replacement for their missing pieces. But until then, Giants fans will continue to suffer through the poor offensive play, as an injured Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley attempt to play behind practice players.
