The New York Giants waived running back Deon Jackson and offensive lineman Joshua Miles on Monday, opening up two roster spots.

While no corresponding moves have been announced, the Giants could be planning to designate for return one of offensive tackle Matt Peart, running back Gary Brightwell, and running back Eric Gray from injured reserve, all of whom are eligible to return this week.

One of Gray or Brightwell figures to be designated for return to be activated before the game against the Patriots to help on special teams.

If not used for Peart, the other spot could also be available for the team to add kicker Randy Bullock to the roster, as the Giants are out of standard practice squad elevations with the veteran kicker.

New York already has kicker Cade York on the roster, whom they signed off the Titans practice squad, but York will have been on the 53-man roster for the required minimum of three weeks, which means the Giants could look to waive him and then add him to the practice squad, thereby swapping York for Bullock on the 53-man roster.

Or the Giants could carry two kickers for one week and decide after their Week 13 bye if they want to continue with such an arrangement.
