Gisele Bündchen reportedly gave Buccaneers' Tom Brady ultimatum amid divorce rumors

There's a new update regarding the situation involving Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and wife Gisele Bündchen.

Nicole Massabrook of US Weekly reports that Bündchen has given Brady an ultimatum amid numerous rumors and stories claiming the couple hired divorce attorneys because the marriage is "beyond saving."

"Gisele told Tom either he leaves football to spend time with the family or she is gone for good," an alleged insider told US Weekly. "She doesn’t want him to continue to get injured and not be able to enjoy life in the future. She is doing it for her family."

Whispers that Brady and Bündchen were having problems behind the scenes first arose when the seven-time Super Bowl champion took an 11-day break away from the Buccaneers during the preseason in August for supposed "personal reasons." It was later reported Bündchen was displeased that Brady ended his short-lived winter retirement to play at least one more season and later said he made that decision "by himself."

In an interview completed weeks before the Brady-Bündchen reports first surfaced, she admitted to having "concerns" about the 45-year-old continuing to play "a very violent sport" at the highest level.

"I have my children and I would like him to be more present," Bündchen said at that time. "I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again. But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too."

Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio notes that Bündchen publicly discussed such worries as far back as May 2017.

"I just have to say, as a wife, I’m a little bit — as you know, it’s not the most — let’s say [it’s] an aggressive sport," Bündchen explained during an interview with talk show host Charlie Rose. "Football, like he had a concussion last year. I mean, he has concussions, pretty much, I mean, we don’t talk about [it] but he does have concussions. I don’t think it’s a healthy thing for your body to go through like — you know, to that kind of aggression all the time. That cannot be healthy for you, right? I mean I plan on having him be healthy and do a lot of fun things when we’re like 100, I hope."

It was reported last month that Brady "knows he needs to retire after this year 'if he wants to stay married.'" For what it's worth, the future Hall of Famer has recently said on multiple occasions he's committed to finishing at least the ongoing season as Tampa Bay's QB1.

The 3-4 Buccaneers host the 4-3 Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night.
