Gisele Bündchen reportedly not set to attend Buccaneers-Cowboys season opener

Multiple stories have surfaced over the past week claiming that Gisele Bündchen, the wife of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, remains upset that the seven-time Super Bowl champion ended a short-lived winter retirement to return to the club and play at least one more NFL season.

For a piece published Thursday afternoon, People's Julie Mazziotta reported that a source with the Buccaneers says that Bündchen currently isn't on track to travel for the Week 1 game between Tampa Bay and the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on Sunday evening.

"It's always a big thing when Gisele is coming to watch the game," that source said. "As of right now, there's none of that for Sunday's game.

"It feels very different this year than last year. She was excited to be here, we saw her around. I'm not saying she can't possibly come, but nothing is in place for her to be here for the first regular season game and that seems weird."

Jason Duaine Hahn and Steve Helling noted for People on Wednesday that Bündchen "wasn't thrilled" Brady decided to return to the Buccaneers roughly six weeks after he initially retired in February.

"Everyone here knows that there's tension, but we don't know how serious it is," the Buccaneers source added. "So we're just not talking to him about Gisele. It's not a topic anyone wants to bring up to him."

Individuals throughout the NFL community found themselves questioning Brady's desire to play for the Buccaneers or any club this fall after he took an 11-day break away from the team during the preseason last month for unexplained personal reasons that allegedly are linked with Bündchen's reaction to the 45-year-old spending another campaign as an active player.

Back on Aug. 18, Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio was among those who openly asked if Brady could rethink things again and retire because maybe "his heart’s truly not in it" or because he'd prefer to start earning $37.5 million per year as the lead NFL analyst for Fox Sports sooner rather than later.

As of now, Brady is set to start for the "Sunday Night Football" matchup in Dallas.
