Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love enjoyed a spectacular year during his first full season as the club’s full-time starter, which has many clamoring for Love to get a contract extension.

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst was asked about whether or not he would like to sign Love to a long-term deal this offseason.

“Yeah I think we’ll go down that road,” Gutekunst said, via 97.3 The Game. “I think, certainly, that will be important for our football team to have some stability there. Jordan and his representation are really good people, so we’ll start working toward that sometime over these next couple of months.”

Love started all 17 games this season, throwing for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 64.2 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 96.1.

Most importantly, Love led Green Bay to a surprising playoff appearance, as the Packers snared the final Wild Card spot in the NFC.

The 25-year-old proceeded to light it up against the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card Round, going 16-for-21 with 272 yards and three touchdowns in Green Bay’s 48-32 win.

Love then went 21-for-34 with 194 yards, a couple of touchdowns and a pair of picks in the Packers’ 24-21 Divisional Round loss to the Green Bay Packers.

The Bakersfield, Ca. native, who played his collegiate football at Utah State, was selected by the Packers with the 26th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.

He spent his first three seasons as Aaron Rodgers’ backup, appearing in 10 games and making one start during that time.

Rodgers was then traded to the New York Jets last offseason, clearing the way for Love to take the reins under center.

One thing is for sure: Green Bay appears to be in very good hands with Jordan Love moving forward.
