Intriguing Super Bowl special market: Betting the yardage leaders for all three categories at once
FanDuel has opened an interesting new Super Bowl specials market for those looking to touch a few various players all at once.
Found under the SB LVIII Specials tab, there's a new betting option: Triple Crown. The basis of the bet is quite simple: you're betting on who leads the game in passing, receiving and rushing yardage, and you need to get all three combos right to cash your bet.
The current favorite
The favorites to lead the game in the three categories is likely what you're guessing: Patrick Mahomes/Travis Kelce/Christian McCaffrey.
That trio as the game leaders comes in at +710, and when you consider that they have a higher prop total than anyone else for their respective yardages, it certainly piques our interest.
The combination of interest
Consider some alternate realities here. What if Kansas City successfully shuts down Christian McCaffrey in the first half and in turn builds up a big lead.
In that scenario, one would think San Francisco would be forced to go to the air while the Chiefs might be more inclined to let Isiah Pacheco run through the Niners defense.
A combo bet of Brock Purdy/Brandon Aiyuk/Isiah Pacheco is currently priced at +1500.
Our pick
Sure, betting the favorites can be boring, but that initial combo of Mahomes/Kelce/McCaffrey is really interesting at +710. If we simply read into the lines that sportsbooks are giving us, it's that direction they are projecting as well.
Mahomes's passing yardage total is 10 yards higher than Purdy's. Kelce's receiving yardage line is roughly five yards higher than Rashee Rice and then anywhere from 12-15 yards more than either Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel.
As for McCaffrey, his 91.5 rushing yardage line is 22 yards more than Pacheco's.
We recommend a sprinkle on these three favorites leading the pack, but we'll honorable mention another combo too. Explore all the options for yourself. This seems fun!
