Following the successful 2023-24 season, the Kansas City Chiefs might go through some drastic structural changes. Throughout the season, the team struggled due to the absence of a proper wide receiver. Hence, there are rumors that the Chiefs might go for a proper wide receiver in the offseason. There are rumors that Kadarius Toney might face the axe after his poor performance.

In this present context, there are speculations that the Chiefs might opt for Justin Jefferson, the wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings who has done a commendable job. Despite suffering injuries, he has ticked all the success boxes for the Vikings. He has also been selected Pro Bowl thrice in his four seasons.

Hence, the general manager of the team, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah claimed that the team is not planning to trade Jefferson. For the next season, they are planning to keep him in the squad. Speaking to the reporters, he said:

[Trading him] is not something that has once crossed my mind. We think he’s the best wide receiver in the league, and he should be compensated as such. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah told the reporters

Despite having multiple injury concerns in 2023, the WR did manage to put up good numbers. He had a career-high with an average of 107.4 yards. With this, the WR has earned a position in the team and they are unwilling to trade the WR. As things stand right now, the Chiefs might have to return with empty hands if they decide to go for Jefferson.

Kirk Cousins’ situation with the Vikings is also uncertain

The situation for Kirk Couisins in the team is also a bit uncertain. The quarterback is presently recovering from a torn Achilles. There are possibilities that he might hit free agency.

However, that may not happen. Cousin knows that the Vikings are a team that can help him to win the Super Bowl. Hence, he might snub free agency and sign with the Vikings. The contract details might come very soon.

Former signal-caller Robert Griffin III also suggested the same. According to a report by Mirror, he stated:

Yes, there are a lot of teams that need a quarterback but few teams that need a QB are closer to winning a Super Bowl than the Minnesota Vikings. And make sure you heard me right: I didn’t say the Minnesota Vikings are close to winning the Super Bowl, I just said few teams that need a quarterback are closer to winning one than the Vikings . Robert Griffin III said

The official announcement regarding the deal is yet to come. However, there are rumors that the player has already snubbed free agency to join the Vikings.
