Jaguars continue spending spree by adding former Giants TE Evan Engram
The Jacksonville Jaguars are on a mission to add talent around quarterback Trevor Lawrence and landed another target in free agent tight end Evan Engram.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Engram will join the Jaguars on a one-year deal worth a fully guaranteed $9 million or as much as $10 million if incentives are reached.
Engram, 27, was the New York Giants' first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and caught 262 passes for 2,828 yards with 16 touchdowns in five seasons with the team. While he earned Pro Bowl honors in 2020, Engram also developed a reputation for dropped passes with 17 in the last two seasons alone.
In addition to Engram, the Jaguars also have deals in place with five-time Pro Bowl guard Brandon Scherff and former Arizona Cardinals receiver Christian Kirk.
Lawrence finished his first NFL season with 12 touchdowns and an NFL-most 17 interceptions. The Jaguars scored the fewest points in the NFL last season with an average of only 14.9 per game.
