Jaguars plan to start Mike Glennon vs. Browns

Jacksonville Jaguars starting quarterback Gardner Minshew still isn't ready for a return to the field. Instead of starting Jake Luton on Sunday, though, Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone is making a switch.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Jacksonville will start Mike Glennon this weekend against the Cleveland Browns while Luton will back him up.

Luton, who was selected in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, is 0-3 this season. The 24-year-old has completed 54.5% of his passes for 624 yards and two touchdowns against six interceptions. His play has forced Marrone to turn to Glennon, who hasn't started a game since 2017.

The 30-year-old is a more proven quarterback, but he's still not great. Glennon is 6-16 in his six-year career and has completed 60.9% of his passes for 5,163 yards and 36 touchdowns against 20 interceptions.

There aren't high expectations for Glennon, though Marrone will be hoping he can at least give the Jaguars a chance to win this weekend, which is something Luton hasn't been able to do.
