Jerry Jones compliments LeBron James

Two days after LeBron James criticized reporters for not pressing Jerry Jones about attending a 1957 protest against desegregation, the Cowboys owner praised the Lakers star.

"I don’t know of anybody I respect any more. I don’t know of anybody that has taken every opportunity he’s had and maximized it," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan, as shared by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. "He not only is an absolute great ambassador for sport. He has taken sports, he’s taken his venues and used those platforms."

On Wednesday, James told the media "to keep the same energy" regarding the photo of Jones that went viral as they did for Brooklyn Nets All-Star guard Kyrie Irving sharing a link to a movie and book that contain antisemitic tropes.

In October, James said he's no longer a Cowboys fan because of Jones' stance on not allowing players to kneel during the national anthem as a form of protest.

Per Rob Goldberg of Bleacher Report, Jones said in October 2017 that anyone on the Cowboys who "disrespects the flag" won't be allowed to play for the storied franchise.

On Thursday, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott told reporters he believes "in grace and change" when asked about the controversial Jones photo.
