Jets' Breece Hall addresses relationship with QB Aaron Rodgers

New York Jets running back Breece Hall is already building solid chemistry with new starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

"He’s a jokester," Hall said about Rodgers while speaking with reporters on Wednesday, per Robert Sanchez of SNY. "He’s actually really cool, really funny. Me and him actually make fun of each other a lot so it’s been cool to be around him… me and him have actually gained a really good relationship."

Rodgers recently raised eyebrows when he said during an interview he cares "more about being respected, especially by my teammates, than liked." However, Jets cornerback D.J. Reed noted last week how the future Hall of Famer asked Reed about his baby not long after the signal-caller joined New York from the Green Bay Packers.

According to Sanchez, Hall was among Jets players who attended a local NHL game with Rodgers shortly after the trade became official. The 2022 second-round draft pick acknowledged on Wednesday that his QB1 already has a working knowledge of the team's offense being installed by new coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.

Hackett served as Rodgers' offensive coordinator with the Packers from 2019 through the 2021 season.

"He asks these questions to the O-line, the tight ends, the receivers and the running backs and you feel that sense of calm, but you also know you gotta be on your stuff because he expects you to be in the spot because you know he’s gonna get you the ball if you’re in the right place," Hall added about Rodgers.

Hall appeared in just seven games as a rookie before he suffered a season-ending torn ACL last October. Jets head coach Robert Saleh expressed optimism on Wednesday that Hall could be good to go for the Week 1 matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Sept. 11, but the 22-year-old suggested he'll only face a live defense when he's fully recovered.

"I’ll be ready when I’ll be ready," Hall explained.
