On Tuesday, the New York Jets made an announcement regarding the status of quarterback Zach Wilson.
Wilson still has not cleared concussion protocol and will miss the team’s Week 17 game against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday, coach Robert Saleh revealed.
The announcement means Trevor Siemian will start at quarterback for the second game in a row.
Siemian also started on Sunday against the Commanders. He went 27-of-49 for 217 yards, a touchdown and an interception as his Jets won 30-28.
Siemian was a seventh-round pick in 2015 and has appeared in 38 games, making 31 starts. The Jets are 6-9 but have won two of their last three games. The Browns are 10-5 and can clinch a playoff berth with a win.
