There's a hot topic buzzing in the world of professional sports right now, particularly between the NBA and the NFL. It's a debate about whether players from one league could successfully transition to the other. While no one from the Las Vegas Raiders has made such a claim, a player's name has been thrown into the mix.

Before we go any further, let's get one thing right: I can neither play professionally for either of them nor have I played them professionally, so this is my opinion. But some of the things I see on Twitter and on podcasts about the subject are pretty funny.

As someone who covers the NFL, I hold the view that more NBA players could potentially excel in the NFL than vice versa. This is based on my observation of the skill and intelligence required in both sports. Of course, the question of toughness is a different matter. But, again, this is just my perspective.

However, one NFL superstar thinks one player on the Raiders can make that switch to the NBA.

"Davante Adams," New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers said when asked which NFL players could.

Now, Adams played basketball growing up, so that does make sense. And, he's talked about it before - how he translates his basketball game to the field.

"I'm a hooper at heart," he said when he signed his Jordan Brand deal. "That's basically what I'm doing out there on the football field — playing basketball. That's the reason why there's a little bit of a different feel for some guys guarding me. Just cause it's a whole different type of movement, which I definitely try to use to my advantage."

Adams is a hooper on the field, and you can see that in the routes he runs. He is the best in the league for a reason, and he could definitely make the switch, just as Rodgers said.
