New York Jets running back Breece Hall did not practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury, via Ralph Ventre of Fan Nation.

The good news is that head coach Robert Saleh did not say Hall would be unavailable for the Jets’ Week 14 matchup with the Houston Texans.

Hall battled through a hamstring injury during last week’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons, carrying the ball 13 times for just 16 yards.

It was just the latest rough effort for Hall, who has not been able to eclipse 30 yards rushing in any of his last four games. Going back even further, Hall has averaged no more than 3.1 yards per carry in any individual contest over his last seven performances.

On the season overall, Hall has rushed for 585 yards and a couple of touchdowns while averaging 4.3 yards per carry. He has also caught 44 passes for 349 yards and a pair of scores.

Most of that production came over Hall’s first five games of the 2023 campaign, when he put together two monster performances in Week 1 and then later on in Week 5. In the season opener, Hall carried the ball 10 times for 127 yards in a win over the Buffalo Bills. In the latter performance, he rushed for 177 yards and a touchdown off of 22 totes in a victory against the Denver Broncos.

Outside of those two games, Hall has been subpar for most of the season. Of course, that is hardly all his fault, as the Jets’ offense as a whole has been miserable this year.

The 22-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Iowa State, was selected by New York in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

A torn ACL abbreviated his rookie campaign, as Breece Hall played in just seven games before the injury. When he was on the field, he was impressive, totaling 463 yards and four touchdowns on the ground while averaging a robust 5.8 yards per attempt. He also logged 19 catches for 208 yards and a score.

The Jets are just 4-8 this season and have lost five straight games.
