Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh enjoyed the RV life in Huntington Beach. On Tuesday, the Chargers released a video of Harbaugh showing off his RV setup. In the video, Harbaugh is joined by Chargers offensive coordinator Greg Roman who also has an RV.
“This is my Quantum Thor Motor Coach,” Harbaugh said. ” Kinda inspired by growing up watching ‘The Rockford Files.'”
Harbaugh was staying in his RV until he moved into his new home in L.A. He joins the Chargers after spending the last nine season as the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines. In March, Harbaugh revealed he’s been living in an RV since the move from Michigan to Los Angeles.
“It’s been great,” Harbaugh said, per MLive.com. “Just being myself. I always wanted to do that (and live in an RV). It worked out great. I’m 100 feet from Greg Roman, who has a really, really good RV.”
Harbaugh dropped the RV idea in January after he was hired by the Chargers. He wanted to live in a trailer park down by the water.
“Now that’s coming to an end — happily coming to an end — because my family is coming to California,” Harbaugh said. “They’re all here on this trip, and we’re all going to California together. We’ll be moving into our rental house, and that’s even better.”
Jim Harbaugh brings a championship pedigree to Chargers
Harbaugh brings a lot of success to the Chargers. In 2023, Harbaugh led the Wolverines to a 15-0 season and their first national championship since 1997. In his nine seasons at Michigan, Harbaugh won the Big Ten title four times and was named AP Coach of the Year in 2021.
But as successful Harbaugh was in college, he also did some good things as a NFL head coach. From 2011-2014, Harbaugh was with the San Francisco 49ers and tallied a 44-19 record in four seasons. The 60-year-old led the 49ers to three playoff appearances three NFC Championship Game appearances and the Super Bowl in 2012.
When Harbaugh was named the Chargers head coach, he talked about returning to a team he played for in 1999 and 2000. “When I played for the Chargers, the Spanos family could not have been more gracious or more welcoming,” Harbaugh said. “Being back here feels like home, and it’s great to see that those things haven’t changed.
