Kansas City Chiefs fans were unhappy with a ridiculous suspension the league gave one of their key linebackers over a week after the Super Bowl. The NFL didn’t hand out a fine to any player on Saturday, which is when the league typically fines players for incidents occurring the week before.

Nick Bolton received a punishment

As discussed on GH, NBC Sports reported the league sent Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton a fine on Monday:

According to Smith, the league confirmed on Monday that Bolton would receive a fine upwards of $8,000 for a horse-collar tackle:

Chiefs linebacker Nick Bolton was the only player fined for an on-field, safety-related violation in Super Bowl LVIII.

Bolton was flagged for a horse-collar tackle on 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy during the second quarter of the game. And now the NFL has confirmed that Bolton was also fined $8,238 for the penalty.

Kansas City Chiefs fans react to the ridiculous fine

Bolton didn’t appear to make an egregious horse-collar tackle on San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy. But the league decided to delay Bolton’s punishment and send him the absurd fine on Monday.

Here are the best takes on Chiefs fans reacting to the punishment.
