To quote "College Gameday’s" Lee Corso: “Not so fast, my friend.”
Just as quickly as the Conor McGregor-Michael Chandler main event fight scheduled for UFC 303 on June 29 was back on, the bout may be in jeopardy yet again.
Vox Media’s Ariel Helwani reported an update on the grudge match
“Since this morning, multiple sources are now saying feelers are being sent out again for June 29,” Helwani tweeted. “For a replacement and/or new fight(s). In short, there seems to pessimism all over again regarding the status of the 303 main event. Actually even more pessimism — it seems — than on Monday last week after the presser was canceled at the last minute.”
Many questioned if the long-awaited grudge match between the two lightweight fighters would actually happen after the UFC canceled a news conference in Dublin, Ireland, last week to promote the UFC 303 main event.
McGregor then posted a photo on his Instagram page sitting in what appears to be a doctor’s office, fueling speculation that the Chandler fight was in jeopardy of being canceled — a move Chandler disclosed he believed was simply McGregor’s trying to troll people.
He even went as far as to tell “The Pivot” podcast that the fight was definitely happening.

But now, things may have taken yet another turn.
“Is this insurance? Due diligence? Emergency replacement mode? Remains to be seen,” Helwani added. “It's all developing (again). But it doesn't appear as though we are out of the woods either way just yet. More to come, and hopefully a definitive answer one way or the other in short order.”
The McGregor-Chandler fight is still being promoted as the UFC 303 headliner, and the UFC has not made any public statements that the fight has been or could be called off.
