Key injuries following 2017 NFL Week 2
Week 2 featured some major injuries to notable players in the NFL. A certain tight end in Carolina, big issues under center, promising playmakers and reliable linemen all went down.
The following injury update follows Sunday's games in Week 2, noting some of the biggest, high-impact injuries.
Kwon Alexander, ILB, Buccaneers
Tampa Bay's leading tackler last season left Sunday's game with a hamstring injury. His status for next week is unknown.
Joe Barksdale, RT, Chargers
Barksdale was injured in the fourth quarter on Sunday with a left foot injury. His status for next week against the Chiefs is uncertain.
Vic Beasley, OLB, Falcons
Beasley was questionable to return to Sunday night's game after leaving with a hamstring injury. He emerged as a star last season, finishing with 15.5 sacks, and his status is uncertain for next week.
Garett Bolles, LT, Broncos
First-round rookie Bolles was carted off the field on Sunday against the Cowboys with a fractured ankle. It's a huge loss for the Broncos, who struggled to block last season.
Sam Bradford, QB, Vikings
Bradford had an MRI on his left knee late this week and was ruled inactive on Sunday. He's had two ACL surgeries on the knee in the past. Case Keenum started in his place.
Corey Coleman, WR, Browns
Coleman injured a bone in his hand, and the Browns' worst fears have been realized. Coleman fractured his hand for the second time in two seasons.
Jamie Collins, OLB, Browns
Collins suffered a concussion on Sunday. His status is uncertain for next week's game against the Colts.
Mike Daniels, DT, Packers
Daniels didn't return to Sunday night's game after suffering a hamstring injury. It's a costly injury for one of the Packers' defensive leaders.
Corey Davis, WR, Titans
The Titans had an impressive blowout win against Jacksonville, but their first-round pick left with a hamstring injury. The severity is to be determined.
Cordy Glenn, LT, Bills
Glenn suffered an ankle injury during Sunday's game and didn't return. His status for Week 3 is uncertain.
Trumaine Johnson, CB, Rams
The Rams lost their top corner in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game with a right leg injury. He didn't return following the injury.
Rob Kelley, RB, Redskins
Washington's starting running back left in the first half of Sunday's game against the Rams with a rib injury. Coach Jay Gruden said after the game that it could be a fracture. Rookie Samaje Perine is the favorite for early-down carries if Kelley misses time.
Marshon Lattimore, CB, Saints
A bad day for New Orleans got worse than Lattimore suffered a concussion against the Patriots. The first-round pick will be in the concussion protocol this week.
Mitch Morse, C, Chiefs
Morse left Sunday's game against the Eagles with a sprained foot. Zach Fulton came on to replace him.
Jordy Nelson, WR, Packers
Aaron Rodgers' top receiver left early in Sunday's game with a quad injury. Green Bay struggled to generate offense for much of the night without him.
Greg Olsen, TE, Panthers
Olsen left Sunday's win early with a broken right foot. The Panthers haven't provided a timetable for his return, but he's likely to miss several weeks, at best.
Ryan Schraeder, RT, Falcons
Schraeder left early in Sunday night's game with a concussion. His status for next week is uncertain.
Josh Sitton, OG, Bears
Sitton suffered a rib injury in Sunday's game and didn't return. Chicago's offensive line has suffered several injuries this season, so another could be costly.
T.J. Watt, OLB, Steelers
J.J.'s younger brother has been dominant early in his NFL career, but he left Sunday's game with a groin injury and didn't return.
Marshal Yanda, OG, Ravens
Baltimore's Pro Bowl guard is out for the year with a fractured ankle. It's a huge loss for the Ravens.
