King of Props: Targeting a Terp-turned-Titan

When the 2021 regular season concluded, the Titans and Jaguars occupied opposite ends of the AFC spectrum. Tennessee had posted a 12-5 record and secured the conference’s top seed in the playoffs, while Jacksonville had managed only three wins. As these division foes prepare to meet for the first time this year, the home squad remains considerably better and we’re backing a new member of it for our top prop:

The bet: Over 32½ receiving yards for Titans tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo (FanDuel)

A fourth-round pick out of Maryland, Okonkwo played in just 30 games during his four years with the Terrapins but scored 10 touchdowns. Harnessing his rare combination of size and speed has earned him a larger role over the back half of his first season as a pro.

Okonkwo has exceeded this number in four of the past five games, doing so with a reception longer than 40 yards in three of them. He has totaled seven catches for 103 yards over the last two contests, and he played a season-high 58% of the snaps in the loss to the Eagles a week ago.

The Jaguars allow 256 passing yards per game, which is the third-worst mark in the league. They also particularly struggle to cover tight ends, surrendering more than 100 yards to the position in recent games against the Chiefs and Ravens.

Although spelling it may present a problem, Okonkwo’s name will be more widely known after today.
