San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy completed 19 of his 26 passing attempts for 296 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 34-3 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. His passer rating of 148.9 was a career-high.

With those game-day marks, Purdy joined Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner as the only quarterbacks in NFL history to record three games in their first two seasons with three or more touchdowns and a passer rating of at least 140.0.

On Monday, Warner took a lighthearted approach while revealing his thoughts on sharing the spotlight with the 49ers quarterback, responding to 49ers Webzone podcast host Al Sacco.

"Now [Brock Purdy] is taking my records… nothing is sacred anymore, haha!" Warner wrote on social media. "Well done young man, just one more example this kid can flat play football, hard to fall into things like this!!!"

Warner has been a vocal advocate of Purdy, even in the face of skepticism from those questioning the quarterback's performance. However, the Hall of Famer acknowledges that Purdy probably has not reached his full potential, so judging him based on only a season's worth of starts might be premature.

"Let's give Brock some time," Warner recently said on 95.7 The Game. "He's done great things in the short period of time in this system, things that make you go, 'Man, this kid is a really good QB.' Doesn't mean he's a finished product. Doesn't mean he's shown us everything we need to know about if he can be a franchise guy or be an elite QB in this league, but let's give him time to do that! I don't need to rush that!"

Purdy, the 49ers' final pick in last year's draft, faced the challenge of stepping into the starting role as a rookie due to injuries to Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo. He stepped up to that challenge, leading the team to its third NFC Championship Game appearance in four seasons.
