Lamar Jackson on Mahomes: 'I've got to get where he's at'

Patrick Mahomes is off to arguably the greatest start in NFL history. In just two seasons as a starter, he has won an MVP, a Super Bowl MVP and earned himself a half-billion-dollar contract earlier this month. His accolades have not gone unnoticed by Lamar Jackson, who says he is determined to keep up with Mahomes' prolific career.

"I've got to win me a Super Bowl. I've got to get where he's at," Jackson told ESPN.

Jackson is already off to a pretty fantastic start, as he won league MVP in his first season as the full-time starter. But unfortunately, Jackson has come up short twice in the playoffs, most recently being upset by the Tennesse Titans in the divisional round. But Jackson says he's focused on the future rather than the past.

"It's over with," Jackson said." I don't really dwell on it, like losses. It's been since January, and it's July right now. I really don't care about it now. I'm just ready for this season."

It's the exact attitude every great quarterback needs to have, and it demonstrates exactly why the Ravens could not be more excited to have Jackson under center. He's not going to dwell on his MVP trophy or tough playoff loss. Instead, he's looking forward to the upcoming season and preparing to take the Ravens to the next level

"I'm grateful for the MVP, all that. (But) I feel like I haven't done anything yet," he said. "There is always room for improvement. I just want to keep going. ... I want to win a Super Bowl."
