Lions CB Jeff Okudah to undergo MRI to find extent of potential Achilles injury
Detroit Lions cornerback Jeff Okudah will undergo an MRI to determine the extent of a potential Achilles injury, head coach Dan Campbell told reporters after Sunday's 41-33 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Okudah suffered the injury early in the fourth quarter and did not return.
The 22-year-old was seen getting yelled at by Lions defensive backs coach Aubrey Pleasant on the sideline after a 79-yard touchdown by 49ers wideout Deebo Samuel earlier in the game. He finished with four tackles and a pass defended.
Okudah appeared in just nine games during his rookie season before undergoing groin surgery. He had one interception, two passes defended, 47 tackles and four tackles for a loss last season.
If Okudah misses any time, Ifeatu Melifonwu and Jerry Jacobs should see more snaps in the coming weeks.
