While some professional athletes like to spend their first check on a car, jewelry or put it in savings, Los Angeles Chargers rookie Derwin James found another way to use some of his paycheck.

James, who was the No.17 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, bought his mother her dream home.

The 21-year-old rookie, who grew up in Florida and played at Florida State University, made sure to give his mother a present on a day she’ll never forget.

He promised her the house of her dreams as a kid and now he has delivered.
