Look: Eagles officially reveal Kelly Green throwback uniforms

They were spotted in the team store earlier this summer and now the Philadelphia Eagles have made it official -- the Kelly Green uniforms are back.

The Eagles officially revealed the fan-favorite uniforms on Saturday in a social media post featuring quarterback Jalen Hurts, wide receiver DeVonta Smith and defensive end Brandon Graham.

Have a look at them in all of their glory.

These were the Eagles' primary uniforms from 1985-95, when Randall Cunningham and Reggie White were the faces of the franchise. The uniforms were replaced by the team's current color scheme midnight green, black, silver and white following the 1995 season.

The Eagles have been trying to bring these uniforms back for a while, but there were some hurdles along the way. For one, Nike did not have the Kelly Green color in its palette for the current jersey materials.

There was also an issue with the NFL's rules that only allowed a single colored shell for helmets per year. Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie did not want to see these uniforms worn with the midnight green helmets. Which is probably a good call because they would not have matched or looked anywhere near as cool.

Everything seems to be back in line now and the Eagles are going back to one of the most popular uniform combinations the team has ever worn.
