Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams are hoping to be a Super Bowl contender when everything is said and done this season. However, they did suffer a major offseason loss. Aaron Donald opted to retire and hang up the cleats on his NFL career.

Losing Donald was arguably the biggest loss of any team this offseason. He has been one of the most feared defensive players in NFL history. However, the Rams were able to snag Florida State standout Jared Verse in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft to help replace him.

While the Rams are going to be missing Donald this season, they still have an opportunity to make a move or two to improve their roster. There are still plenty of talented free agents left on the market.

All of that being said, let’s dive in and take a look at three players the Los Angeles Rams should still consider signing before the season.

3 Big Impact Free Agents The Los Angeles Rams Should Consider

Looking at the list of players available, there are a handful that stick out as potential targets the Rams should look into. For this list, we’re just going to pick three. Without further delay, let’s take a look at them.

3. Eddie Jackson, Safety

While there are some cons to go along with the pros of pursuing Eddie Jackson, he could make sense for L.A. The Rams have a talented secondary, but there could be some long-term depth concerns.

Jackson is coming off of a 2023 season with the Chicago Bears that saw him play in 12 games. He compiled 37 total tackles to go along with an interception and five defended passes. While he isn’t an elite safety, he could be a nice depth addition in case of injuries.

2. Logan Thomas, Tight End

Another potential need that the Los Angeles Rams could address with the current free agency market is at tight end. Logan Thomas would be a very intriguing addition for Sean McVay’s offensive system.

During the 2023 season with the Washington Commanders, Thomas caught 55 passes for 496 yards and four touchdowns. There is no question that McVay could figure out a way to utilize a 6-foot-6 and 250-pound weapon for Matthew Stafford. Thomas would be a very nice addition for Los Angeles.

1. Stephon Gilmore, Cornerback

Finally, the Rams could have an opportunity to make a massive impact signing for their secondary. Somehow, Stephon Gilmore is still available in free agency. This is a move that the Los Angeles Rams should pursue aggressively.

Gilmore had a great season with the Dallas Cowboys last season, recording 68 total tackles, a forced fumble, two interceptions, and 13 defended passes. Adding a talent like Gilmore would help take the Rams’ defense to the next level.
