In their preseason finale on Thursday night at Lincoln Financial Field, the Philadelphia Eagles had the chance to witness several players from their most recent draft class in action during a 27-13 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Among this group of players, quarterback Tanner McKee stood out with glimpses of potential during Thursday night's loss. After quarterback Marcus Mariota was able to help orchestrate a touchdown in his sole drive of the game, McKee stepped onto the field. The rookie quaterback completed 19 out of 34 pass attempts, threw for 156 yards and committed no turnovers before being replaced by Ian Book in the fourth quarter.

Following the game, the Stanford product was asked about his overall performance throughout his first career preseason, to which he expressed gratitude for the opportunity more than anything else.

"Overall, great learning experience and a great opportunity," McKee said. "That was one of my goals coming in to the preseason was obviously get my feet wet, get out, play with my guys and get back on the football field."

With the preseason officially over for McKee and the Eagles, they will turn their attention to their Week 1 matchup against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium on Sept. 10th. Even from the bench, he'll have tons more to learn.

"I feel like there were a lot of things to learn, especially, I mean, tonight as well that I'll have to go watch and improve on, but just thought it was a great learning experience for me and I was really thankful for that," McKee said.
