Since signing in new coach Mike Mcdaniel the Miami Dolphins have loaded up with offensive weapons. WIth the additions of Tyreek Hill, Cedric Wilson, Terron Armstead, Chase Edmonds, and Raheem Mostert the offense should see more points on the board. Now with the ability to put up more points a game the defense can play with less pressure to win the game as they did last season.

Last season the Dolphins brought pressure the second most times in the league. A defense that produced 40 sacks and 14 interceptions look to take the next step. Second year player Jaelen Phillips can potentially have a breakout year after recording 8.5 sacks in 2021. Andrew Van Ginkel will be looking to turn some heads and make a splash during his contract year. Signing Emmanuel Ogbah who recorded 9 sacks last season will benefit from teams needing to score more. Dolphins also brought in edge rusher Melvin Ingram. Ingram was drafted in the first round by the chargers in 2012.

Xavien Howard is one of the few shutdown corners in the league. Howard and fellow Pro Bowl corner Byron Jones look to continue their dominant performance. Together with Nik Needham and second round breakout candidate Jevon Holland, the dolphins have the chance to be one of the best in the league.  Now they get to line up across from Hill and Waddle during practice to improve their craft.

WIth defensive coordinator Josh Boyer returning, the defense is likely to continue to be a high-pressure defense and part in getting the Dolphins back to the playoffs.
