MRI confirms Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins suffered season-ending torn ACL

An MRI on the left knee of Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins confirmed he suffered a season-ending torn ACL in Saturday's 37-3 win over the Washington Football Team, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Dobbins suffered the injury on the ninth play of Saturday's contest. His left knee took a hit from the shoulder of Washington cornerback Jimmy Moreland.

The 22-year-old had to be helped off the field as he could not put any weight on his left leg.

Entering his sophomore season, the 2020 second-round pick was slated to be Baltimore's lead back in 2021. Last year, he rushed for 805 yards and nine touchdowns, playing a significant role in the Ravens' playoff push.

With Dobbins out, Gus Edwards, Justice Hill and Ty'Son Williams will need to step up in Baltimore's run-heavy offense. Edwards ran for a career-high 723 yards and six scores last season, while Hill and Williams did not contribute much.

The Ravens could potentially look to sign another running back in the coming days with final roster cuts taking place this week. Todd Gurley, Duke Johnson, Kerryon Johnson, T.J. Yeldon, LeSean McCoy, Adrian Peterson and Le'Veon Bell are among the backs still unsigned this summer.
